Dior Brand Campaign
A brand repositioning strategy for Dior
Fall 2025 · Team project with Grace McCarthy, Ana Veselova, and Miranda Cohen

Overview
When Christian Dior presented his first collection in 1947, ultra-feminine silhouettes defined the look of the era. Nearly eight decades later, that same heritage risks reading as dated. This project set out to reposition Dior as a brand that feels relevant and exciting to younger, style-driven consumers, without losing the elegance it was built on.
The Challenge
E-commerce accelerated during and after the pandemic, and economic pressure and tariffs have made consumers more selective about where their money goes. Our primary research revealed that Dior faces a perception problem: to many younger shoppers, the brand feels traditional or too dated.
The core question became: how does a heritage house stay true to its legacy while becoming part of modern culture?
The Insight
We focused on the modern shopper: women aged 18 to 24, students and early-career professionals, who shape fashion culture online and use luxury purchases to express who they are. Our research showed that this audience blends self-image, sustainability, and storytelling in their buying decisions. They want pieces that feel unique, brands with strong artistic direction, and luxury that reflects their values without sacrificing prestige.
The Strategy
Our strategy gives Dior a modern twist through bolder visuals and culturally relevant storytelling, making the brand feel fresh and expressive to a new generation. Key opportunities included:
Personal storytelling. Turning Dior’s Parisian history into stories that feel relatable and personal.
Collaborations and capsules. Limited collections with brands and creators that resonate with Gen Z, bringing together different cultures and styles.
Customization. Monogrammed and limited-edition pieces that let customers put their own personality into the product.
Values-driven luxury. Highlighting craftsmanship, sustainability, and circular initiatives.

The Plan
We recommended a shift in tone of voice, from reserved to expressive and youth-focused, supported by new campaign styles and bolder creative direction. In store and online, we proposed a more interactive shopping experience, updated staple pieces, and products that stay exclusive while feeling more accessible to younger customers. On the communication side, the plan called for more frequent, engaging social content and influencer partnerships that balance youthful energy with Dior’s signature elegance.
Success would be measured over the first year after launch, with targets of a 30% increase in social media engagement, a 25% increase in website engagement, and a 20% increase in store visits from consumers aged 18 to 40.
